After the fantastic response to the Squid Roe EP, it is time to showcase Thunberg’s solo work. Thunberg - pronounced /Toon Bærj/ (just like Greta) is a master of vibes.

This EP was set to come at the peak of summer but like all things 2020 it was delayed by Covid19. So we thought we’d bring some sunshine to the dark months; a whimsical slice of sample based smoothness.

Thunberg fills us with hope and positivity in a time when it is needed the most.

Fågelskvalp - /Faw Gel Skvalp/ meaning Bird Slosh in Swedish feels like Pete Heller’s Big Love got washed up on the Baltic coast at sunrise with some Hawaiian guitars and a pack of Marlboro Reds. This song moves with intention while spreading endless joy.

Med Kniv & Gaffel - (With knife and fork) is a boozy groover, drenched in warm midsummer sun, lush tones for effortless dancing - a vital addition to chilled beers on cliffs overlooking the water.

Bossoao picks up the pace shaking off those winter blues, pumping energy back into a world full of sterile faux deepness and over quantised tech-house bullshit.

We hope you enjoy Thunberg’s first solo outing for Squid Roe Records.

Seaward & Thunberg first met when Neil was washed up on Ludvig's private beach having lost his voice to an old sea hag that has an octopus for legs. In Swedish the word for octopus and squid are the same so things got confused and the only way to get his voice back was to make beautiful music together.
